Loneliness "is a complex and usually unpleasant emotional response to isolation. Loneliness typically includes anxious feelings about a lack of connection or communication with other beings, both in the present and extending into the future. As such, loneliness can be felt even when surrounded by other people" (wikipedia). Everyone suffers from loneliness at one point in time in their life. Sometimes this feeling is part of one's entire life. The sense of not fitting in and not being heard or understood can paralyze ones ability to find happiness in life.
Loss, like happiness is a universal feeling we all feel at one point in time in our life. The feeling of loss translates into grieving which can be activated by may different events. Loss of a child, a parent, a pet, a spouse all induce deep pain in our being. Many times it makes us feel as if happiness was stolen from us because of the loss. While most people associate loss with death - throughout our lifetime we grieve many different "losses". The loss of a job, divorce, separation, the loss of a home or other possessions as well as the absence of certain elements that we think are necessary to make us "whole" can also cause grief. It serves no one yet, there are times when we hang onto the pain caused by the loss resulting in depression or even health issues. It becomes the norm and we are unable to move beyond it.
Separation and Divorce: They say that going through a Separation or Divorce is one of the most stressful things in life that could happen to us. It is much of a loss as death is and we will go through the same stages of grief that we would go through when someone we love passes away. Letting go of someone you cared about enough to marry or to date is never easy, and it takes a very long time to heal. If we are lucky, we can become the best of friends with our exes or boyfriends, which is especially beneficial if we have children with them.
It can take many years to overcome loneliness, loss or being divorced. But it does not have to be that way. I have developed techniques that will help you become aware of the core reason why you are suffering and how to overcome it in a reasonable time.
My approach (high level description) to help you rise above your pain are in three stages:
- Help you understand the impact of your suffering on your life.
- Help you understand the purpose and the real cause of your suffering.
- Help you develop a plan to rise above suffering.
